Terms of Service

Welcome to the Lake Tahoe Planner, operated by TrailsTV, LLC ("TrailsTV," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website at trailstv.com and any associated services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or using any feature of the Lake Tahoe Planner, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them along with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

2. Description of Service

The Lake Tahoe Planner provides outdoor adventure planning tools for the Lake Tahoe basin, including:

• Live campsite availability information sourced from Recreation.gov and ReserveCalifornia
• Activity guides for hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, boating, and camping
• Interactive maps of campgrounds and local amenities
• Trip planning and itinerary management tools
• Weather forecasts, trail conditions, and lake information
• A personalized adventure advisor ("Walk Me Through")

3. Membership Tiers and Billing

Free Tier

The Free tier is available at no cost and provides access to basic activity overviews, weather forecasts, the amenities map, and up to 2 saved trips.

Basic — $3.99/month

The Basic tier includes all Free features plus the kayak and bike rental directory, live campsite availability map, 14-day availability calendars, and up to 15 saved trips.

All Tahoe — $10.99/month

The All Tahoe tier includes all Basic features plus in-depth boating and marina guides, camping fee and permit information, live ski resort conditions, offline maps, gear checklists, permit filing assistance, and unlimited saved trips.

Billing Terms

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at signup
• Annual subscriptions are billed at a 20% discount from the monthly rate
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• We do not issue refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days written notice to registered users

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information at registration
• Keep your contact information current
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access at hello@trailstv.com
• Not share your account with others or transfer it to another person
• Not create multiple accounts to circumvent tier restrictions

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without written permission
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or its related systems
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
• Impersonate TrailsTV, another user, or any other person or entity
• Use the Service to transmit unsolicited commercial communications
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service

6. Outdoor Activity Disclaimer

You are solely responsible for:

• Verifying current trail conditions, fire restrictions, permit requirements, and weather forecasts before any outing
• Obtaining all required permits for wilderness, backcountry, or restricted areas
• Carrying appropriate equipment, supplies, and safety gear
• Assessing your own physical fitness and skill level for chosen activities
• Following all posted regulations at campgrounds, trailheads, and on the water
• Checking current fire restriction levels with the USFS Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit before building any fire

TrailsTV is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from outdoor activities planned using our Service.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The Lake Tahoe Planner integrates with and links to third-party services including Recreation.gov, ReserveCalifornia, Nevada State Parks, ski resort websites, and TahoeOutdoorsTV. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. TrailsTV is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or practices of third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Lake Tahoe Planner — including text, graphics, logos, UI design, and code — is the property of TrailsTV, LLC or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. User-submitted trip data remains your property; by submitting it you grant TrailsTV a limited license to use it to provide and improve the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CAMPSITE AVAILABILITY DATA WILL BE ACCURATE AT THE TIME OF YOUR TRIP.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRAILSTV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at hello@trailstv.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days notice of material changes via email to registered users and by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
